In March, we completed the installation of a sorting line in the Orchards of the Noteć Valley in Jeziorki. This time the investor was the company Sady Doliny Noteci, whose activity focuses on the trade of fruit and vegetables, natural juices and honey. The company cooperates with a 120-hectare orchard farm, 1/3 of which is covered by orchards with apple trees. It is for sorting these fruits that our line was designed.
The investor decided on a 4-track, bowl sorting line with a capacity of up to 9 t/h with water unloading, equipped with sorting software with a vision system. Fruit segregation is carried out according to the weight, size and color of the apple. The line was equipped with an unloading robot with chain conveyors for feeding full and receiving empty boxes.
Two NSJ-2 box fillers and five return SPR-4 packing tables were used to pack apples.
Additional solutions chosen by the investor are the central collection of class 2 fruit and packaging from packing tables. Downtime is minimised by a design designed to transport cartons from the mezzanine to the table tops. Operators do not have to take a break from work to add cartons to pack fruit on the production line. The line also includes a fruit counter for counting and packing into MLO bags.
