In April 2020, a 4-track technological line for sorting and packing apples into cartons was launched on a fruit farm located in the picturesque area of Lake Rożnów. The operation of the machine set allows for an automated process from unloading to packing apples into cartons, thus enabling subsequent palletization of full packages.
The heart of the installation is a 4-track bowl sorting machine equipped with a precise vision system for analyzing the diameter and color of apples. Once the weight has been measured, the vision system configures the apples and directs them to the assigned conveyors, which transport them to the packing tables.
We proposed Standard packing tables with a length of 4 meters. Each table consists of: 2 belt conveyors with a width of 400 mm (to which fruit is fed from the sorting machine), a conveyor for receiving full packages, a second-class fruit conveyor with drop gutters and a table top for empty packages.
To improve and maintain continuity of work, the technological line has been equipped with gravitational cardboard drops, which systematically deliver empty packaging. Filled packages are moved to the central package collection conveyor or to the package slide for manual palletizing. If a specific sort is not needed at the time of sorting, the fruit can be redirected to conveyors that deliver the apples directly to the box filler.
In the second stage of the investment, the process of manual palletizing of cartons will be replaced by a fully automatic palletizing line, which will consist of a palletizer and an automatic strapping machine. The technological line will also be supplemented with another box-pallet filler and a fourth packing table.
In the third stage, the line is planned to be expanded with a system for the ministry with a hydro-vacuum filler. This solution will allow the apples to be pre-sorted, divided into sorts and put in the cold store prepared in this way. This allows you to better control and manage the goods available in the warehouse.
